Had a great Inset day with Jon and a lady from Espresso
We looked mainly at Textease and Espresso to inspire writers!!!!
We also looked at Rapid Reading resources- but as ever we seem to be having technical problems with the mic!!!
Really pleased as already seen a teacher using some of the skills we all learnt yesterday.
Wonder if any one has any tips on being Head and ICT ?
I feel it has some good points - I don't need to go cap in hand for money !!
But the down side is time - I haven't got enough!
We also currently have a school website that a Dad does for us but really don't know how much use it is - would welcome other peoples thought's on school websites???
I don't think we will ever be Woodlands or Ambleside!!!!
Are there any other school sites worth looking at ????

RE: WEBSITES - you could try a 'counter' to see how often your site is visited? Our new learning platform should also help schools to replace (or complement) their schools website as a key point of reference for parents and pupils... hopefully within the next few terms!
RE: TIPS for ICT Heads... mmm not sure about that, apart from try to employ a very eager ICT teacher next time the opportunity arises!!!
I'm also interested in putting together a new website as ours is very static. I did get in contact with Derby College and a tutor there was supposed ot be getting his students to redesign it for me. He is not, however, very forthcoming with information and is very hard to get hold of. I doubt I will ever see the results. I am hoping the Learning platform will provide me with a website/homepage that we can use instead.
