I've recently had the pleasure of helping a couple of schools redesign their ICT suite. These have been based on teacher's frustrations at ease of use of current equipment/layout.

Becta have guidance for designing ICT suites, although often compromises are required.

I'll start off with three frustrations.
(1) There isn't enough space to get around the room, when there is a class of children working
(2) Some machines have old software on, or don't all have the same titles
(3)I can't see all the monitors, so children can 'hide' or continue clicking in secret!
